This is an exciting opportunity for someone with event and engagement experience to play a critical role in our ambition to engage 1 in 4 people to take action for nature in Wiltshire and Swindon. This is a new role for the Trust to help us achieve this strategic goal.

This is your opportunity to work for one of the country’s leading environmental charities that is at the forefront of tackling the effects of climate change and the biodiversity crisis as part of ensuring a sustainable future for wildlife and people. For more than 60 years an innovative and pioneering organisation, Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, the only organisation devoted to conservation in the county and one of the country’s largest Wildlife Trusts, is at the forefront of driving nature’s recovery. A leader in conservation engagement, we improve lives by bringing the learning, health and wellbeing benefits of nature to many people.

Critical to achieving Wiltshire Wildlife Trust’s aims to support nature’s recovery, help people connect with nature and live more sustainably, this is an exciting post offering the opportunity to contribute directly to raising the profile of the Trust within Wiltshire and beyond. This post offers a lot of scope to develop high profile events and campaigns to our varied audiences. Building on our existing work with different communities across Wiltshire and Swindon, the post holder will be responsible for collaborating and coordinating with staff and volunteers to map and celebrate what is already in place and identify new areas for engagement and activity.

With over 23,000 members and over 2,000 volunteers, this is an exciting time for the Trust as we deliver our 2030 strategy to grow engagement. This role will be responsible for managing the staff and facilities at our two flag-ship reserves, both with cafes and event spaces, and ensuring an exceptional visitor experience through growth in engagement and income generation.  The post holder will work closely with our Engagement Manager who oversees our Volunteers and the wider Fundraising and Engagement Directorate which includes Communications and Marketing.

The successful candidate will be innovative, creative, confident and able to seize the initiative, working calmly under pressure to manage events and campaigns across the county. We are seeking a commercially minded individual who can strike a balance between income generation and engagement. We are looking for a strong and diplomatic communicator who can inspire and help diversify audiences through events, campaigns, and enhancing the visitor experience. The appointee will be a good relationship builder and multitasker, with management experience.

Wiltshire Wildlife Trust is fully committed to safeguarding the welfare of all children, young people and adults at risk. All WWT staff will receive safeguarding training and must ensure that they comply with WWT’s safeguarding policy.
