Love Your Local Nature Reserve - Smallbrook Meadows

Our nature reserves aren't just beautiful places to visit – they're lifelines for wildlife in crisis and home to many incredible but scarce species. But to enable us to do more for nature and to continue to protect these spaces which are facing real threats from development, climate change and pollution. We need the support of people like you – the locals that love our spaces.

Natures Recovery Fund

To achieve our goal of nature being in recovery, we must carefully manage over 40 Wiltshire Wildlife Trust reserves and work in partnership with many organisations and farmer clusters across the county.

Project Peewit

The distinctive Peewit display of the breeding Northern Lapwing (Vanellus vanellus) is as much a part of Wiltshire’s landscape and history as the rolling chalk downland on which they nest.

However, all is not well for the Lapwing. Across the UK breeding Lapwing numbers have crashed by around 60% since 1967 placing them firmly on the UK Red List.
