idverde, a leading provider of landscaping services, and Wiltshire Council has demonstrated its commitment to community engagement by completing a vital project for the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust (WWT). The project focused on improving accessibility at the Harbour Garden, a vital space for WWT's Wild Transitions course, designed to support veterans connect with nature to improve their mental health. Wild Transitions, funded by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, was launched in partnership with the Defence Gardens Scheme and together they continue to offer sessions to create a beautiful forest garden called the Harbour Garden at Green Lane Wood nature reserve in Trowbridge.
Recognising the need for improved access to the garden's facilities, WWT approached idverde for assistance. idverde, with its local office in Trowbridge, was already familiar with WWT's work and eager to contribute to the community. Following an initial site visit to assess the scope of the project, idverde and Wiltshire Council offered to provide all necessary materials, labour, and machinery to complete the project. Within a week of the agreement, the idverde team was on-site, working tirelessly through one of the hottest weeks of the year to complete the project to a high standard.
The idverde team meticulously mowed and prepared the pathways, conducted thorough risk assessments, excavated and filled in pathways to ensure smooth navigation, resurfaced the area beneath the wooden gazebo to accommodate wheelchair users, and diligently tidied and connected various areas of the site for a seamless experience.
