Community Fund
Do you have a great idea to reduce carbon or increase wildlife in Wiltshire?
This fund could help make it happen.
Wiltshire Wildlife Community Energy (WWCE) develops renewable energy projects to protect and enhance wildlife habitats and biodiversity and benefit communities. WWCE donates a proportion of its annual surplus to the Community Fund for awarding grants to community and voluntary projects throughout Wiltshire.
Objectives for eligible, Wiltshire-based projects reflect WWCE’s own aims and objectives and need to include one or more of the following:
- To support wildlife conservation
- Mitigate climate change
- Reduce carbon emissions (including local food, transport, waste products etc)
- Reduce fuel poverty
To date, £130,000 has been donated to the Community Fund and grants have been awarded to a diverse range of community and voluntary group projects across Wiltshire including: Wiltshire Scrapstore, Seeds 4 Success, Sustainable Warminster, ARK, SPLASH – Youth Action Wiltshire, Friends of Biss Meadows, Holbrook Primary School and Cycle Chippenham.
Core educational activities and individuals/commercial organisations cannot receive funding – see full guidance below.

The Community Fund is managed by a Community Fund Panel and administered by Wiltshire Wildlife Trust. If you are a WWCE or WWT member and would like to join the Panel please get in touch.
The Fund is currently open for applications and the Panel meet three times a year to decide awards. Meetings in 2025 are scheduled for: 10 February, 9 June and October - applications need to be received at least two weeks before meetings.
