About the event

We invite you to experience the magic of Great Wood, an ancient woodland usually closed to the public, on a special Open Day, October 16th. This is a rare opportunity to explore this unique habitat and learn about its importance for wildlife conservation.

Why Great Wood is Special

Great Wood is a haven for biodiversity, home to a variety of rare plants and animals. To protect this delicate ecosystem, public access is generally restricted. However, on select Open Days, the Trust opens its gates, allowing visitors to witness the peace and tranquility of this ancient woodland. From 11am - 2pm Great Wood will be open for the public to explore at their leisure.
