Miles for Minds
Miles for Minds
In April, several staff from WWT will be walking the length of the county, from Langford Lakes in the South to Lakeside Care Farm in the North. The 50 mile route will take two days, with the first day negotiating Salisbury Plain before going over Wansdyke and dropping down to end at Avebury stone circle. Continuing northwards, the second day will skirt the Great Wood and Ravensroost Wood reserves before finally cutting across Clattinger Farm and ending at Lakeside.
Why Are We Doing This?
It's all linked to the 6 ways of wellbeing and their benefits to mental health. Embracing all 6 ways as we walk, we will be active, setting ourselves a challenge, socially connecting as we walk, and taking in the beauty of Wiltshire’s countryside.
We will also be fundraising for our Men's Wellbeing Groups and activities. These groups offer nature-based activities including green woodworking, practical conservation and bushcraft skills to help build confidence, connect with others, and develop techniques to help manage anxiety, stress and depression.
